Does your dog get overly excited when leaving the house? Do you ever wish you could take your dog into a pet friendly store or venue on a beautiful day? We love training to go out! At Next Level Kennels, our expert team prepares your animal for every day life by putting an emphasis on going out. Our expert dog trainers teach your canine how to be well behaved and manage the excitement of leaving the house! This is one of the biggest reasons we train in stores.
Hardware stores, for example, can be a good place to “proof” or acclimate your dog to multiple stimuli. Dogs are very sensitive to unfamiliar smells, sounds and sights! We work toward getting dogs “neutral” to the distractions of being in public which can include sudden loud sounds, people and even other animals! We want our dogs to grow accustomed and comfortable in an environment outside their usual routine. ie the home or workplace.
One technique that has very positive results is “place” or “placing” the animal on a slightly elevated surface. At our facility this id done on an elevated cot. This provides the animal with a confidence boost by placing them above those unfamiliar distractions. This promotes a more neutral posture and encourages a well behaved experience. dogs can be our companions outside the home just as much as they are in it. Our goal is to set your pet up for confidence and success in irregular environments and training to go out is key to getting them there.
